Frederick works in Burundi, Africa, reaching out to the Batwa, a minority ethnic group often despised and marginalised. He shared some feedback on how he benefitted from the learning experience in a voice note – listen here:
Hi everyone. My name is Frederick Ndayishimiye I live in Burundi and I am an evangelist in our church.
I would love to give a short testimony of how the courses help me to understand aspects of the culture of another community in which God calls me to live in and share the gospel. The important thing is to know before who I am to learn about my culture, the visible culture and invisible culture, and put down all things which can stop me to build an effective and healthy cross-cultural relationships.
My priority is to be the one who is willing to change because other people’s cultures are not going to change. For me, this is the key to the success of our mission. This is the system we are using in our ministry with the Batwa community in our country. We try to understand them, to be with them, to respond to their needs, and then to share the gospel according to their rhythm of understanding.
It’ll take time. It’ll take a long time, but transformation takes a long process. Thank you. May God bless you so much.
A key part of our mission is to empower people who may not have access to missions training, perhaps due to their geographical location, or a lack of funding. Sponsorship helps us to offer our materials at discounted rates, and for free, to those who need it most.
Our course fees are modest, but can still be unaffordable for some. Your contribution could make a substantial difference, reducing the burden for those who are not able to afford this. Any amount that you feel comfortable contributing will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards reducing the course fees for such individuals to make our material accessible to as many as possible
